After leaving (or as I felt at the time, escaping) Music & Art, I went reluctantly on to Cooper Union for the, then, three year non-degree fine arts program.
Although I did feel I got more from the time at Cooper, it remained my memories of the four years spent at the High School of Music & Art, and of all our classmates, which grew ever stronger and more poignant as the years passed.
Most of us lived far away from the school and travelled to get there. When we went home there were (in most of our cases) none in our neighborhood who were our classmates. In the years after graduation, the feeling of being disconnected from those high school years and classmates, got only stronger.

Later, I'll add something about my career, or possibly, non-career.
I probably break the record for the longest self employed person from our graduating class. After Cooper, I did work one year in the art department at Bantam Books on Madison Avenue. I wore a suit and tie for most of that year there.
Then ... the rest was silence ....

For now here are some photographs taken through the years -
